The Top Ten African Passports

Hello Visionaries, today we’re listing the top 10 best African country passports to have.

What makes them so valuable is the amount of countries they grant you access to.

Our source is from TRT Afrika and you can visit their website to learn more.

You can also watch the video list we made below.

So, if you’re reading this it’s because you want to know what the best African passports are.

One of the reasons why you’d want to know this is because passports from those countries allow the possessors to be able to access a whole bunch of other countries.

Also, one of the things about people who possess passports from very strong countries is that it points to their citizens having a higher-ranking income, so that’s just something to think about.

For example, Singapore has the most powerful passport in the world because it grants you access to 192 out of 227 countries!

Where do you think the United States falls in even the Top 15?

The United States is not the strongest passport, but it does grant access to 184 countries and is tied with Lithuania for 8th place.

Let’s take a look at these passports that are the strongest in the world.

And while we look at this we’ll see which African countries allow travel to the most destinations, and learn some brief facts and figures along the way.

We will go in reverse order – starting at Number 10.

THE LIST

10 – TANZANIA 🇹🇿

Ranked 70 Globally.

Destinations: 73.

Tanzania is number 10, ranked 70 globally, and it grants access to 73 countries and destinations.

Our family happens to reside in Zanzibar, which is actually tied to or connected with Tanzania, in terms of their governments.

It would be like St. Kitts and Nevis, they’re together.

Tanzania is a beautiful country to visit!

Our family has been to Dar es Salaam which is a port city that they project to grow to around 6 million people.

Some of us have been to Arusha and Moshi, and seen Mount Kilimanjaro and other beautiful places.

We’ve seen the animals and gone to the “pride lands” and seen lions, giraffes, zebras and other gorgeous creatures on safari.

9 – MALAWI 🇲🇼

Ranked 69 Globally.

Destinations: 75.

We have a neighbor, an elder whom we highly respect, who is from Malawi and he has spoken very highly of his home country.

We’ve fallen in love with more fruits, like mangoes, which our neighbor farms back in his country.

There is beautiful ocean life, more towering mountains, and bustling cities we’re excited to visit one day soon.

8 – KENYA 🇰🇪

Ranked 68 Globally.

Destinations: 76.

Kenya is up there near Uganda and the Indian Ocean is east of them.

They have a large variety of wild animals too – except in Nairobi.

Nairobi, Kenya is… let’s face it, it’s big time. It’s almost considered the capital of the continent of Africa depending on who you ask.

7 – ESWATINI 🇸🇿

Ranked 67 Globally.

Destinations: 77.

This country sounds like a fabulous place that’s on our list of places to visit.

Ranking-wise they’re tied with Kazakhstan.

Eswatini has plenty of city-life, and is over in Southeast Africa, east of Johannesburg.

6 – LESOTHO 🇱🇸

Ranked 65 Globally.

Destinations: 79.

Located in Southeastern Africa, they’re tied with Thailand with one major difference – Lesotho gets snow.

So if you enjoy snowy seasons you should definitely consider Lesotho.

But the country is also warm and boasts stunning mountainous landscapes.

Because it is the only country that sits above 1,000 meters it is nicknamed “The Sky Kingdom”!

5 – NAMIBIA 🇳🇦

Ranked 64 Globally.

Destinations: 80.

Namibia is tied with 3 other top nations: China, Saudi Arabia, and Bolivia.

Namibia is known for its diamonds and beers.

They also have the the desert that comes up against the ocean in a very intriguing way, so you get both aspects of that.

And we hear that the city life is very quaint, but of course, research for yourself if you’re interested in Namibia.

4 – BOTSWANA 🇧🇼

Ranked 60 Globally.

Destinations: 89.

My mom really wants to visit this country and loves the name of it.

Botswana has beautiful sunsets, cityscapes, and wildlife, like the mighty elephants.

Botswana is in the middle-lower half of Africa and sits right between Namibia and Zimbabwe.

3 – SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦

Ranked 52 Globally.

Destinations: 106.

The country is directly south of Botswana and Namibia.

They have interesting wildlife, like penguins. Yes, there are wild penguins in Africa, whether it’s snowing or not.

And they do get snow there as well.

South Africa is known for its sprawling city life like in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

They say that nature lovers really dig Cape Town, while urbanites will enjoy exploring Johannesburg.

There are 11 official languages spoken in South Africa, and the population sits at 59 million people.

South Africa also boasts 3 – count them – 3 capital cities:

  1. Cape Town (legislative)
  2. Pretoria (executive)
  3. Bloemfontein (judicial)

The first heart transplant was performed in South Africa.

And the country boasts 2 Nobel Prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Frederik Willem de Klerk for their work toward ending apartheid.

This small island is east of the island of Madagascar and Mozambique on the mainland.

Mauritius was once home to the dodo bird which is now extinct.

So it’s a great place to live!

They rank themselves high in terms of livability as 1.2 million people call the island home.

They have a 90% literacy rate and there are more women than men, so that presents good gender equitability.

Their predominant religion – unlike any other African nation – is Hinduism.

1 – Seychelles 🇸🇨

Ranked 24 Globally.

Destinations: 155.

Seychelles is off to the east of Tanzania in the middle of the crystal clear Indian Ocean and they are definitely on our bucket list.

Seychelles has the only granite islands in the world, and it is an archipelago with multiple islands just like the Zanzibar islands.

It has a population of 120,000 people, 94% of which speak English.
